Abstract
Mountjoy School has announced it will stockpile food and purchase an additional freezer in preparation for a no-deal Brexit, it was reported by the BBC.
The Government has stated that the UK will leave the European Union with or without a Brexit deal on 31 October 2019.
This is causing some people including the Jackie Shanks, head teacher of Mountjoy School in Dorset, some concerns over shortages of food supplies.
In a letter to parents she stated: “Risks that are pertinent to our operation at Mountjoy School include food shortages, medicine shortages and fuel shortages.
“To address potential food shortages, we have purchased an additional freezer which we will stock with suitable meals to cover short term issues.
“We will also review products with our suppliers and increase our stocks of canned and long shelf life products.”
