All apprentices at Dine Contract catering are given the opportunity to complete the DofE’s Bronze Award as part of their training, with many choosing to progress to the Gold Award.
Ian Cartwright, Dine Contract Catering managing director, said: “From cycling to Paris, to climbing to the peak of Snowden, to our recent completion of Hadrian’s Cycleway, we’ve embarked on a number of challenges over the years to raise funds for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, which have helped make this donation possible.
“We can see just how much our own apprentices get from taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and we’re proud to be doing our part to help make sure that all students in the area have access to this fantastic programme.”
Earlier this year, Dine Contract Catering hosted a Ready, Steady Cook style event to mark the 60th Anniversary of the Award, which was attended by His Royal Highness the Earl of Wessex.
