Young chefs interested are required to come up with an ‘incredible’ sandwich recipe, based on the competition’s theme ‘awaken your senses’.
The winning entry will go on to represent their country at the Paris School of Bakery and patisserie on April 3.
At the Finals, each competitor will create their sandwich, which will be judged by an expert panel on gastronomic, visual, nutrition, service, and environmental and cost criteria.
The prize for the winner is a 15-day study trip worth €5,000 which includes a two-day training course with the Paris Bakery and Patisserie school, educational internships in Délifrance partner establishments and accommodation.
The victorious chef, along with the second and third place finishers, will also win Mauviel kitchenware.
Stephanie Brillouet, Délifrance marketing director, said: “The Sandwich World Cup is a great way to get your name out there in the culinary world. And the study trip is a fantastic learning experience – you’ll get to see some of the world’s finest bakers and chefs do what they do best.”
Candidates must be aged 18 or over and studying at school or college in the UK or ROI. Entries close on 28 February.
