It doesn’t matter which sector they work in, all entrants need to do is go to www.bestbrigades.com/enter and leave a few details about what sets them and their chef team apart from the pack. From there, eight regional finalists will be chosen to go head to head in a public video vote.
The competition’s judging panel has been strengthened with the addition of British Culinary Federation vice chairman Matt Davies. The Group Executive Head Chef of Staffordshire’s The Lewis Partnership, joins Chef Patron of Liverpool’s Hope Street Hotel, Paul Askew; Executive Chef at London’s Park Lane Sheraton, Andrew Bennett MBE and Dorchester-trained Essential Cuisine MD, Nigel Crane, in an exacting chef panel, with the final say on who goes through.
Davies said: “I’m delighted to be judging Best Brigades and am greatly looking forward working with Paul, Andrew and Nigel to choose our finalists. There’s no room in the modern kitchen for egos, it’s about team players, individuals with discipline, skill, empathy communication, style and belief. These are the ingredients that make the best brigades, and that’s what I’ll be looking out for as a judge.”
Nigel Crane, Managing Director for Essential Cuisine, added: “We know how proud and competitive chefs are, which is why we’re calling on them and their brigades to stand up and be counted. Regional Pride is at stake! Simply tell us why your team is the best and should be chosen to represent your region. Don’t delay!”
