Abstract
DBC Foodservice has won a contract worth £2.5m a year to supply frozen, chilled, fresh meat and produce, milk and cream products to the Notcutts Garden Centre group.
DBC, which delivers to 18 Notcutts sites across the country, will provide over 700 product lines, everything from café goods to full serviced restaurant menus – breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The deal was won through Equinoxe Solutions, which provides clients in the catering industry with a purchasing service, delivering quality products at the best available price.
Chris Horne, managing director of DBC Foodservice, said: "DBC Foodservice works closely with its customers to fulfil their unique requirements. Notcutts wanted to consolidate its food offering, deal with just one trusted supplier and reduce deliveries to streamline business. "This is exactly what DBC has been able to offer, so we are extremely pleased to enter into this sole supplier contract, providing over 700 product lines, which will offer Notcutts significant savings and efficiencies."
Mike Glancy, director of restaurants at Notcutts, added: "Notcutts wanted to appoint a catering supply company that would offer two distinct advantages: one that would not just provide us with specific listed product lines, such as cakes and fresh produce, but could also introduce new culinary initiatives to make our offering even more tempting to our customers, while also providing an effective sole contract that would generate efficiencies. We are very pleased to have found all of this with DBC."
