DBC foodservice reduces environmental impact of deliveries

30th Jan 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
DBC Foodservice has announced it is taking delivery of 64 new purpose built DAF 55 Multi-temperature vehicles throughout January and February 2009, which it says are more environmentally friendly.
Ranging from 15 to 18 tonnes, the vehicles will carry 'Frigoblock' refrigeration units and meet the latest Euro Five regulations. Nick O'Carroll, Operations Director at DBC Foodservice explained more: "As part of our ongoing five year vehicle replacement programme, the reduced environmental impact of these new vehicles was key to their selection. "These Frigoblock units are electrically powered, they reduce the overall vehicle weight, fuel consumption, noise and CO2 emission by up to 50%, with other harmful emissions like Nox being reduced by up to 90%."
