Abstract
Dairy expert Pritchitts has achieved the Carbon Trust Standard having reduced their CO2 Emissions by nearly 3% over two years.
This figure works out to be a reduction of 26% of CO2 emissions per tonne of product produced.
In addition, Pritchitts has also reduced in carbon dioxide output by 75%, reduced in noise levels of 17% and reduced its water usage by 1,500 cubic meters per week.
Further figures found that 71% of consumers are more likely to buy from a business certified as having reduced emissions.
Colin Shiels, quality, health, safety & environment manager, Pritchitts, said: "We are absolutely delighted to be awarded this certification; it proves we have taken real action on climate change by reducing our carbon footprint. "The organisation is extremely proud to be contributing towards the Carbon Trust's mission to reduce CO2 emissions. The Carbon Trust Standard requires us to keep reducing our carbon footprint and to recertify every two years. We will endeavour to continue the great work and keep reducing our impact on the environment."
Harry Morrison, general manager, the Carbon Trust Standard, added: "Being certified with the Carbon Trust Standard is evidence that an organisation has taken genuine action to reduce their direct impact on climate change by cutting carbon emissions. We congratulate Pritchitts on this achievement."
