Abstract
The Craft Guild of Chefs has named Kath Breckon, Graeme Collie and Stuart Pelham as shortlisted finalists for the Public Sector Chef Award.
The Craft Guild of Chefs Awards are seen as the chefs’ Oscars recognising the exceptional talent across the whole of the industry. The winner of the Public Sector Chef accolade will be announced at the Craft Guild of Chefs Awards ceremony that is taking place on Monday 24th June at JW Marriott Grosvenor House in London.
Nominations were sought from the high-volume catering arena including hospitals, prisons, education, military, public and social services and in-house staff restaurants. The three shortlisted finalists include:
- Kath Breckon, training and development chef, North Yorkshire Council: Kath has facilitated the reduction of the average daily meal price per day for the core menus by approximately 7p when comparing Autumn 2022 with Autumn 2023.
- Graeme Collie, executive chef, King's College London: Since his appointment in 2022, Graeme has helped improve the profile of King’s Food, serving exceptional meals in food outlets and at hospitality events.
- Stuart Pelham, head chef, Llys Cyncoed, Care UK: Stuart is an exceptional culinary professional who has played a pivotal role in transforming the dining experience at Llys Cyncoed care home.
