Each of these finalists has been selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants and will now compete for the prestigious bursary, worth up to £5,000. The bursary has been designed to support their education and culinary development.
The Young Chef Scholarship aims to foster the next generation of culinary talent by providing financial support to help young chefs further their education, gain valuable work experience, or purchase essential culinary tools. This scholarship reflects the Craft Guild of Chefs’ commitment to inspiring innovation and excellence within the UK’s hospitality industry.
Steve Munkley, vice president of the Craft Guild of Chefs, commented: “We are thrilled to announce the finalists for the very first Craft Guild of Chefs’ Young Chef Scholarship. The shortlisted candidates will now proceed to the final stage of the selection process, which will include an interview at Westminster Kingsway College on Wednesday 12th February 2025. The successful candidate will be announced on Tuesday 18th February 2025.
The Young Chef Scholarship will provide up to £5,000 to the successful applicant, which can be used for:
- Education programmes or certifications
- Work experience or internships (domestic or international)
- Specialised culinary programmes or equipment
- Other culinary education-related activities
