Abstract
Foodservice wholesaler Country Range is celebrating an “incredible” end to 2017, as it announces annual turnover surpassed £430 million and like-for-like sales were +16% in December alone.

Following a “busy” festive period, like-for-like sales for the year were also up  “in excess of £50 million,” with managing director Coral Rose commenting: “It was the best December we (Country Range) have ever had so the perfect way to round off our record-breaking 25th anniversary year.

“The results clearly highlight the demand from caterers for quality independent foodservice wholesalers who can provide local knowledge, expertise, expansive product portfolios and the finest customer service.

“By being part of a national buying group, our members benefit from competitive pricing, exciting promotions, access to the Country Range brand and extensive marketing support, but can still provide the personal, reliable and professional approach that is so important to chefs. All in all, it makes a fantastic case for why wholesalers should treasure their independence.

“While double-digit sales growth is a great accomplishment, the recent inward investment by our members ensures that these results are only the beginning and that we have the foundations in place to continuously improve, grow and take advantage of the new trends and opportunities in 2018.”
