Abstract
Foodservice supplier Country Choice has announced the winner of its 2018 Create a Pastry competition in partnership with grocery wholesaler, Appleby Westward, and support of the charity Marie Curie.
Taking home the prize for her Mexican chicken fajita-style pasty, Tamzin Grebot (from Spar supermarket in Silverton, Devon) will see her creation on sale in Appleby Westward stores stores across the country this summer.
5p of every pasty sold during the first three months will be donated to Marie Curie to help provide care and support for people living with terminal illnesses, and their families.
Having impressed judges with their entries, Grebot went head-to-head against two other finalists and their pork, apple and cider, and chilli beef variants (15 March) .
Country Choice said “although judges deemed Tamzin’s chicken fajita recipe the overall winner, everyone was delighted to have contributed to such a great cause.”
