Abstract
The Cordon Vert Cookery School has appointed Alex Connell as the new principal tutor.
As part of his new position, Connell will be developing recipes, training professional chefs, teaching amateur cooks, creating courses and promoting great veggie food for Cordon Vert and the Vegetarian Society. In addition, he will be visiting national and regional food festivals to demonstrate and give talks. He commented: "Cooking has always been a great passion of mine. Ever since I can remember the kitchen was the place I felt comfortable. Food for me is a cultural tie we all share. "Think of the special moments in your life and I'm sure food will have been an important element - from first birthday cakes to weddings and wakes. As the Principal Tutor I am looking forward to sharing my passion for food as well as continuing to learn about and be inspired by fabulous flavours." He added: "I hope to be able to build on the reputation of the Cordon Vert School and develop recipes and new courses. These will cater for all tastes from dinner party specials to family favourites. "In addition I want to get more professional chefs to visit the school. Vegetarian cuisine can be healthy, exciting and delicious as well as extremely varied. How often have you seen vegetable lasagne on the menu? It's time for a change. See you in the kitchen!"
