Abstract
The #CookForUkraine campaign, which aims to raise funds for children and families affected by the invasion of Russia, has raised over £54,000.
The campaign aims to increase awareness of the humanitarian crisis as well as raising the funds needed to aid children and families in Ukraine who have been displaced by the current situation.
Chefs, food writers and restaurant owners have been sharing Ukrainian and Eastern European inspired dishes across social media. All the proceeds will be directed to UNICEF UK’s Ukraine appeal, who work to keep children worldwide safe from danger.
How to get involved:
- You can join the movement by hosting your own #CookForUkraine supper club or bake sale, inviting your friends and suggesting a donation to this Just Giving page.
- Get cooking, share your pictures, recipes and stories on social media by adding the #CookForUkraine hashtag.
- Restaurant, Hotel, Cafe, Bar Owners & Operators can add a voluntary £1, £2, or £5 donation to the bill throughout the month of March 2022. Email cookforukraine@gmail.com for details to get set up.
The campaign was inspired by #CookForSyria, which raised over £1m for UNICEF through supper clubs, bake sales and recipe books.
