Abstract
Cook for Good, is a social enterprise that tackles food poverty and social isolation, is benefiting from the involvement MKN cooking equipment.

The venture, which connects businesses with local communities, uses its new community kitchen in Kings Cross, London to host free cooking classes, community meals and a surplus food pantry as well as cooking-based team-building experiences. It shares the profits and the food with local residents.

MKN’s FlexiCombi Team 6+10-grid combi steamer and four zone induction hob were supplied and installed by C&C Catering Equipment as part of the new kitchen.

Mark Town, operations manager for MKN UK, said: “I was so impressed by this project and what it does for the community, and very proud that MKN can be a very small part of it.

“Working with C&C, we’ve been able to supply MKN’s premium cooking equipment and provide training on the equipment to make sure the community can get the most from it.”

Karen Mattison, co-founder of Cook for Good, said: “MKN is one of a number of equipment suppliers that have got involved with the development of our community kitchen and we can’t thank them enough.

“Without their support, we wouldn’t have been able to fit out our kitchen to such a high spec; we’re really excited about welcoming the community in to get cooking.”

Founded in 2019 by Karen Mattison and Robinne Collie, Cook for Good operates as a Community Interest Company – which means all profits are invested back into community work.
