Cook and Share is a celebration of good food and how it connects us all, providing inspiration for warming meals during a time of increased cost of living. The event continues to grow each year as in 2022 over 300 registered activities took place and resources were downloaded over 25,000 times.
Ruth Galpine, associate director of healthy and sustainable diets for the Soil Association, commented: “Cook and Share celebrates the many benefits of sharing good food, from getting together with loved ones to enjoy a meal or learning a new recipe at your local community centre.
“Not only that, but with budgets so squeezed, Cook and Share resources are providing plenty of inspiration to dig around your cupboards or reach for different seasonings to mix up a recipe. I’m looking forward to seeing all the ways we can connect through cooking and sharing this autumn.”
Free resources are available to download now and include step-by-step recipes. The four themes include:
- Cooking for people
- Cooking for pleasure
- Cooking for the planet
- Cooking for the pocket
People can take part by starting an event either with friends, family or within their local community and registering it here, or by joining an existing event in their local area.
