19th Apr 2012 - 00:00
Abstract
STOP Hunger, the Sodexo Foundation’s global initiative, has donated £4,100 to help Aberlour Child Care Trust buy kitchen equipment, utensils, cookery books and food to support healthy eating activities at its locations across Scotland.
Paul Cowie, account director for Sodexo Prestige in Scotland said: "The STOP Hunger campaign is delighted to support the excellent work of Aberlour Child Care Trust. "The Trust has many goals that strike a cord with our Foundation as STOP Hunger supports charities that tackle hunger, poor nutrition and promote life skills such as cooking in local communities, as well as providing a central focus for Sodexo employee fundraising and volunteering." Marie-Claire Jones of Aberlour Child Care Trust said: "We are so grateful to Sodexo for supporting our vital work with this generous donation from the STOP Hunger Campaign. "Improving life skills among the children and families we support is a very important of our work as Scotland's leading children's charity and this donation will make a substantial difference to some of the country's most disadvantaged young people." In the UK, STOP Hunger was launched in 2005 to tackle hunger and malnutrition in local communities. Part of Sodexo's Better Tomorrow Plan sustainability strategy to 2020, the initiative has three main components: * Financial donations thanks to employee fundraising * Sharing of Sodexo knowledge with charity partners * Employee volunteering through charity partners
