Abstract
Kudos, part of the Crown Group, has played host to over 600 guests and celebrities, including the museum’s president, Sir Bobby Charlton, Sir Geoff Hurst and Sir Trevor Brooking at an event to celebrate the opening of the new National Football Museum in Manchester.

As part of the event, guests were invited to preview the venue in advance of its official opening to the public on 6 July.

It was the first event that Kudos has held in the new venue after signing a six-year multimillion pound contract to provide food and venue management services at the Museum.

The new venue is tipped to become a popular destination for events ranging from dinners, gala awards, receptions, Christmas parties and product launches.

As part of Kudos’ activities across the museum, it has also opened a public cafe and ‘Kaleido’; a contemporary British restaurant and cocktail bar located on the fifth and sixth floors of the museum.

The museum is home to the world’s greatest football collection, showcasing nearly 2,500 of its 140,000 strong collection of objects, works of art and photographs. Items include a shirt from the world's first ever international match played in 1872, the 1966 World Cup Final ball and the shirt worn by Maradona during the infamous 1986 ‘Hand of God’ quarter final match between England and Argentina.

Jon Pryce, managing director, Kudos, said: “After such a well received launch party, we are all tremendously excited that the museum and its events spaces are officially open.

“We have all been very eager to show off the venue’s fantastic facilities and hold events that are going to be spectacular to say the least.”
