Abstract
Creative Taste, the heritage and visitor attractions division of caterer Creativevents, has won a six-year £3.8m contract to provide catering services at Dulwich Picture Gallery, the first public art gallery in England.

Under the terms Creative Taste will operate Dulwich Picture Gallery Café together with hospitality for events in the Gallery and its gardens.

Adrian Willson, Creative Taste managing director said: “This new client is a fantastic opportunity for Creative Taste. We launched a dedicated website at the beginning of the year (www.creativetaste.co.uk) and this is our first contract win under the new branding and subsequent partnership with MITIE Group PLC.”

New plans for Dulwich Picture Gallery include a ‘pop up’ Garden Café during the summer months. Willson said he also wanted to work more closely with the Gallery’s Friends, the local community and develop the weddings, corporate and social occasions’ business.

Menus will feature freshly cooked dishes with seasonal ingredients working with local suppliers such as East Dulwich Naturally and the Paul Rhodes bakery.

“We want local people to fall in love with the Gallery Café and visit throughout the day. We will be serving really good morning coffee and pastries, enticing brunches, afternoon teas, sunday roasts and small portions on our children’s ‘Little Gallery Menu’.

“As well as wanting Dulwich Picture Gallery to be the natural choice for hosting events, we want the Café to be at the heart of the community and aim to make it the destination of choice locally where we will entice and delight all our customers.”

Dulwich Picture was recently ranked 25 in the Times list of the world's 50 greatest galleries.
