Abstract
Amadeus, the NEC Group’s retail, conference & banqueting, and hospitality caterer, has marked a new season of events at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham by launching a new catering menu and mobile concept for the 2m visitors that attend events at the venue each year.

A new menu focused on fresh, quality ingredients has been introduced in the restaurants within each NEC hall and a new mobile kiosk – a brand extension of the MADE concept that was launched by Amadeus earlier this year - was operated at the NEC for the first time.

The MADE concept was developed from industry insight and its design follows a ‘hand-crafted’ theme embodying the principles of freshly made and finished, good quality food and drink.

The latest menu to be launched at the NEC features a variety of new items, including desserts, boxed salads and deli sandwiches; all of which are made in-house daily.

New meal deals have also been introduced to offer customers extra value for money.

To underpin Amadeus’s commitment to retail principles the company has appointed Lisa Preece as pricing and promotions manager.

Marc Frankl, Amadeus food and beverage director, said; “We are always looking for new ways to develop the catering offer available to our visitors.

“Catering trends have indicated that freshness and quality are two of the most important factors for customers so we have tried to find areas in which we can enhance this in our own menu and implemented changes.

“As part of this, we have given all of our deli sandwiches a four hour shelf life and introduced a 12-month seasonal range for the first time at the NEC so we are offering only the freshest, tastiest products all year round.”

The new and improved menu was launched at a recent Exhibitors Masterclass attended by more than 500 exhibitors.
