Contract caterer Wilson Vale surpasses job creation target
Abstract
Following a period of growth and success Wilson Vale has announced that over the last 12 months it has created 232 jobs and it is also encouraging more young people to consider a career in hospitality.

Wilson Vale has more than doubled its 2022 goal to create 100 catering jobs. The national contract caterer is inviting budding chefs and those interested in a career in hospitality to apply for work experience and apprentice opportunities.

Graeme Watson, ESG director at Wilson Vale, commented: “It is vital that all of us in the industry do everything we can to encourage young people to pursue a career in hospitality. The career paths are so varied, from culinary work in the kitchen and front of house service, to hotel management, marketing, sales and housekeeping.

“The types of catering environments to work in are also incredibly broad – from small independent restaurants to multi-national hotels, cruise liners and, of course, contract catering. I honestly don’t think there is any other sector that offers the same exciting wealth of opportunities that hospitality does.”

Emmanuel began working at Wilson Vale as a kitchen porter and through the help of Craft Works, an internal training and development programme, has worked his way up to being a chef manager running his own contract.

He added: “I love working with like-minded staff at Wilson Vale. They are very supportive and have inspired me to do more and be creative.”
