Abstract
Sodexo has announced the appointment of Matt Dawson MBE as an ambassador for the company, helping to raise awareness of health and well-being issues, as well as lending his support to a number of other initiatives.
With a keen interest in culinary development and food, Dawson will work across all of Sodexo's business segments, supporting Sodexo's activities across the UK and Ireland. In addition, Dawson will work with Sodexo on existing and potential large sporting events which are an important part of Sodexo's business. Sodexo, with the Mike Burton Group, were responsible for the marketing, sales and distribution of the corporate hospitality and travel packages for the Rugby World Cup 2007 and have been awarded the exclusive contract for the 2011 Rugby World Cup tournament in New Zealand. Aidan Connolly, chief executive of Sodexo UK & Ireland, said: "We are delighted that Matt will be working with us in a number of areas which he is passionate about. He is an excellent advocate of the importance of adopting a healthy diet and active lifestyle and is keen to help us communicate the importance of this to our staff and customers." Dawson added: "I am very excited to be working with a company of the stature of Sodexo. It's a unique role where I hope I can add value by helping to provide an insight into health and well-being matters and share my experiences of what it takes to deliver at the highest level."
