Compass Retail teams up with Blackwells at Nottingham University

The joint venture comprises a new Costa Coffee café within the Blackwell's bookshop in the University's Portland Building. The five year contract is worth around £2 million in total turnover. Compass currently operates the retail areas at the campus-based teaching hospital, Queen's Medical Centre. Lynn King, business director – retail at Compass Group UK & Ireland, said: "Working with Blackwell's is a fantastic new opportunity for Compass. The joint venture allows both companies to combine their specialities, resulting in a much improved student experience." Josh Green, manager of Blackwell's at Nottingham University, added: "We are delighted that Costa Coffee will be located in Blackwell's Bookshop. The addition of a coffee shop further enhances our offering to students and makes Blackwell's a key destination for students and staff."
