Abstract
Compass Group UK & Ireland has secured 15 year catering deal with Hatfield House and Park.
The House and Park is currently undergoing a major development programme which will see several new areas for visitors including nine outbuildings which have been converted into shops, a newly created children's adventure playground featuring a 2.5 metre high model of Hatfield House and a renovated Victorian kitchen and a traditional breeds children's farm.
To complement the work going on in Hatfield Park, Compass is extending the existing Coach House restaurant over two floors and creating a new café providing visitors with even greater choice. In addition, Compass will continue to provide all conference and banqueting, weddings, events and sub-contract the field catering at Hatfield.
The 15 year deal is expected, by year five and following the development programme, to be worth £2.5 million in annual turnover to Compass' Sport, Leisure and Hospitality business.
Nick Moorhouse, business director at Hatfield House, said: ''We are absolutely delighted to have agreed a new 15 year contract with Compass, which is a key element of our vision for making Hatfield House and Park an all year round leisure attraction, appealing to all ages and visitors with a broad range of interests.''
Matthew Thompson, managing director of Compass' Sport, Leisure and Hospitality business, added: "The history of Hatfield House is well known and is what makes it such an appealing visitor destination and event space.
"The future for the house is equally exciting and Compass is proud to be part of it. We are going to be working closely together on all aspects of the extended catering and hospitality offer and very much look forward to continuing the partnership in the newly developed setting."
