Compass Group launches first food-to-go range
Abstract
Compass Group UK & Ireland, the foodservice and service support company, has launched Chop Chop, its first chilled, food-to-go range.

The range of 150 items, which includes sandwiches, salads, paninis and toasties, will be available in over 700 hospitals, universities and retail outlets. The expected sales growth is 10% year on year.

Louise Pilkington, marketing director of Compass Group UK & Ireland, said: “Our new food to go range is based on extensive research into the food-to-go market and consumer needs. As lunch breaks continue to get shorter sandwiches are seen as a quick and healthy option, so it was important to us to create a high quality range which can make lunchtime something to look forward to.”

The launch follows a survey by Compass, which estimated the grab and go market is now worth £20.1 billion in the UK and has grown by 6% in the last year.

Sandwich options will include more classic combinations such as egg and cress and BLT alongside more daring flavours such as chicken and artichoke and goats cheese and pepper.
