Abstract
RMBI Care Co. is to offer its care home residents an ‘enhanced’ dining experience after signing a brand new, five year contract with Compass Group UK & Ireland’s White Oaks division.

White Oaks will be responsible for recreating ‘nutritionally analysed, balanced’ menus that incorporate seasonal produce, as well as offering more supper choices, pictorial menus, home comforts and finger food around the clock.

New crockery, cutlery, glassware and table linen will also be provide as part of the deal, while catering staff across RMBI’s 12 homes will benefit from training to ensure that they comply with both companies customer service standards.

Training will also have a specific focus on texture modified diets to ensure that all staff have an understanding (following an NHS food texture alert) and can support customers’s individual needs.

RMBI Care Co. care operations director, Karen Salley, said: “Mealtimes are a really important part of the day in our care homes. It gives people the opportunity to socialise with friends and enjoy tasty, nutritional dishes.

“We want to enhance this experience as much as possible for our residents to ensure that they feel comfortable, relaxed and have a good variety of food options to choose from.”

Russell Blake, business director of healthcare at Compass Group UK & Ireland added: “We design our menus with chefs and our expert nutritionists to cater specifically for people living in care homes and to meet their needs.

“We’re looking forward to working with the residents of RMBI Care Co. to ensure meal times are something that they look forward to, with fresh and great tasting meals.”
