The Compass programme encourages SME’s to pitch new products and solutions within the world of food, drink, services and facilities management, to a panel of judges with the potential of them being used within the group. The Idea Works team will work with the business once they receive the thumbs up to develop their product and bring it to the wider market.
The latest event was held at the Hospitality Show at the NEC, Birmingham where four entrepreneurial businesses made five-minute presentations, followed by a 10-minute Q&A session.
Oliver Cock, managing director commercial, Compass Group UK & Ireland said: “The aim of The Idea Works is to give SME’s a platform to showcase their cutting-edge products and concepts, and to ensure that as a company we are at the forefront of innovation.
“Each of the ideas presented could add real value to our business and clients – I’m looking forward to comprehensive trials that will show us how they are received by our business.”
Since launching in 2012, the Idea Works has helped over 30 small businesses introduce their forward-thinking products to market through various Compass sectors. Previous winners include Leak Lizard, Jimmy’s Iced Coffee, Hurricones and Cocktail Magic. The next Idea Works will take place on April 16th.
