Abstract
Compass Group UK & Ireland are celebrating after its culinary team delivered food services to over 470,000 fans who visited Wimbledon over the fortnight of tennis.

335 chefs worked across 51 onsite kitchens to deliver food and drink to 27 restaurants and 30 grab & go outlets.

The Compass Group, official catering partner for Wimbledon for the last 32 years, served a range of signature Wimbledon dishes and seasonal specialities.

Compass teamed up with Allegra McEvedy MBE, co-founder of Leon, on a range of healthy salad pots and homemade salads, which were available on the grounds.

Altogether 79,654 sandwiches and salads were sold over the two weeks with popular choices including salmon superfood salad with avocado and broccoli, and a Lebanese freekeh and chilli feta box.

In total, 17,170 portions of fish & chips and 33,211kg of strawberries were served, 110,22 scones made and 141,235 cups of tea poured.

Gary Parsons, executive chef for Compass Group UK & Ireland at Wimbledon, said: “Our people are our greatest asset and once again it’s been brilliant to see the dedication and hard work of our teams in the build up to the event, and over the two weeks.

“As well as tennis, Wimbledon is also about celebrating great food and drink. We believe in cooking our food with fresh, responsibly sourced British produce and we work side by side with the Wimbledon team, to ensure we deliver amazing food that matches the calibre of the visitor experience here."
