Abstract
Compass Group has received four awards from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), demonstrating the company's clear commitment to health and safety.
A Gold RoSPA was awarded to Compass Group's offshore sector, ESS Support Services Worldwide, marking its eight consecutive year of attaining the highest standard for safety management and performance. Entering for the first time, Medirest (healthcare), ESS (defence and government services) and Chartwells (education) all received silver awards, which are awarded to companies that have achieved a high level of performance underpinned by good management systems. Chris Williams, health, safety and environment (HSE) director, Compass Group UK & Ireland, said: "The safety of our people and those affected by our work is our number one operational priority. We aim to set industry leading standards and make it one of the reasons why clients and consumers choose Compass Group." Having received the Bronze Health, Safety and Environment Standard in December 2008, Compass Group UK & Ireland is currently striving towards achieving their own Silver HSE Standard.
