Abstract
Compass Group UK & Ireland held its first Charity Ball last month for Cancer Research UK, raising a grand total of over £100,000.
Held during Wimbledon fortnight at the Gatsby Club – one of the venues where Compass provides hospitality at The Championships Wimbledon – guests including clients, suppliers, world-famous chefs and stars from the sporting world enjoyed an evening of great food and entertainment.
The evening was hosted by former British tennis star Annabel Croft and comedian Tony Hawks. It kicked off with a Champagne reception followed by a three course meal designed by Albert Roux. Guests then had the chance to win a range of great prizes in a charity auction before being treated to a soul-session from singer Beverley Knight.
Ian Sarson, group managing director, Compass Group UK & Ireland, said: "It was extremely rewarding to see so many people from across the industry come together to support Cancer Research UK in its fight against Cancer.
"I want to thank everyone who attended and supported this event, it was a great night with exceptional food and service and I am delighted that we have managed to raise over £100,000 for such a worthwhile cause."
During the past three years to date, Compass has already raised over £650,000 for Cancer Research UK. Jools Tait, director of partnerships at Cancer Research UK, said: "We know everyone at Compass is committed to making a difference. "Thanks to their support we are able to continue our pioneering progress, which is helping to save many thousands of lives. We have been overwhelmed with the tremendous response to our partnership and the Wimbledon Charity Ball was a resounding success."
