Abstract
Daniel Suggate, a 25 year old Compass Academy Apprentice from Northumberland, will be joining forces with Gary Rhodes, one of the catering company's consultant chefs, to appear on the Good Food Channel's Market Kitchen in celebration of Apprenticeship Week.
The programme will be aired at 7pm on Friday 5 February at the end of Apprenticeship Week.
After filming for the show, Suggate said: "Since becoming a Compass Academy apprentice in November, I've had such amazing opportunities, who would have thought I'd appear on television with one of the top chefs in the country only a few months into my Apprenticeship!
"Working with Gary has spurred me on to follow my ambitions and aim high and I believe that the opportunities I am getting from the Academy means I stand the best possible chance of getting there."
Rhodes commented: "Working alongside Daniel on Market Kitchen was fantastic. It brought back memories of when I was training as a chef; I learnt through a vocational route and it was great preparation for the demands of life in the kitchen. It also gives you the opportunity to learn from experienced people in a particular industry or sector, which is why I was so pleased to cook with Daniel and support Apprenticeship Week."
