Abstract
The Clink’s annual Charity Ball this month (12 January) raised over £40,000 for its prisoner rehabilitation initiative.

Held in association with the charity’s venue partner, Royal Lancaster London, the event saw 90 catering college students, 24 Clink graduates and 12 Centrepoint students assist the four chefs - Adam Byatt, Adam Simmonds, Brian Turner and Steve Penny – as they prepared the four-course meal for 450 guests.

Following a Champagne reception and sit-down dinner, Brian Turner then led the auction, which included prizes from a three-course interactive cooking experience with Aveqia to two tickets to BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen and an overnight stay for two at The Ritz Hotel.

The Clink chief executive Chris Moore said: “It was wonderful to see so many generous supporters attending our ball. Without the kindness of our sponsors and generosity of our guests the charity would not be able to offer so many prisoners this unique chance to transform their lives. We are incredibly grateful to all the chefs, students and hotel staff for creating a wonderful evening for everyone to enjoy.”
