28th Jun 2011 - 00:00
Abstract
The Clink Charity, the first commercial restaurant to be built inside a working British prison, has appointed its first ambassadors, Giorgio Locatelli and Vic Laws.
Chef ambassador Locatelli has hosted several training sessions for the prisoners at The Clink and has cooked alongside the prisoners for three of The Clink's special events. He commented: "Being asked to be chef ambassador is a huge honour for me, I whole-heartedly believe in the objectives of The Clink and I am exceedingly pleased to be a part of it." Meanwhile Laws has played an integral role in The Clink over the past 12 months regularly running training sessions and workshops with the front of house staff. Laws said: "Working so closely with The Clink has been a fantastic opportunity to help make a difference and support the rehabilitation of the prisoners. This is extremely important to me and I will continue to support and encourage the incredible work that The Clink carries out."
