Abstract
Southampton charity City Catering has been shortlisted for the APPG ‘Excellence in School Food’ Award for their Cooking at Home project.

The Cooking at Home project was created to ‘inspire’ households to explore healthy and home cooked recipes. The project provides recipe-led grocery boxes to families during the school holidays as well as providing a host of resources on their website and YouTube channel.

The APPG awards aim to recognise excellence in innovation and individual commitment. The winner of the ‘Excellence in School Food’ Award will be announced on Thursday 3 March 2022.

Jessica Clasby-Monk, charitable impact manager at City Catering Southampton, said: "The Cooking at Home project started in the first lockdown as a way to support families at that time, and has grown and developed since thanks to successful grant funding and donations. We are really proud to have been able to continue to support so many families - often 900 at a time, working closely with 30+ schools.

“We are so grateful for the essential support of our partners, Harvest Fine Foods also. It's been a lot of hard work, from many people, and I'm delighted that this and the positive impact of it has been recognised by APSE and the APPG School Food network."
