Abstract
Niche City caterers Lusso are raising big funds for Mary's Meals, a British charity that provides a free meal at school to the world's poorest children.
A total of 19 Lusso employees, including Lusso's managing director, Paul Hurren and many of his chefs, plan to do a sponsored cycle using Boris Bikes on Sunday 27th March 2011. All of the cyclists will start the ride on a bowl of porridge to highlight the fact that Mary's Meals provides porridge to chronically hungry children in their local school to encourage them to attend school and, through education, gain a better future. Half of the group will set off from Lusso's most easterly contract; EMA (European Medicines Agency) at Canary Wharf, and the other half from their most westerly contract; the Royal College of Psychiatrists in Belgrave Square. The group will converge at City Hall at approximately 11.30am and then carry on to the law firm, Olswang LLP in High Holborn for a celebratory barbecue. Paul Hurren, managing director of Lusso, said: "Our aim is to raise £3,760 for Mary's Meals, enough to feed over 400 children in Malawi for a full year."
