The summit will open with an introduction speech from Kirsty McHugh, chief executive of the Mayor’s Fund for London and food activist Christina Adane.
The keynote speaker in the morning will be Debbie Weekes-Barnard, deputy mayor for social integration, social mobility and community engagement.
Pandora Haydon, communications manager of the Food Foundation, will host a session on holiday provision film and discuss this with five primary school students from London. The Food Foundation is an independent organisation with a ‘mission’ to change food policy to ensure everyone can afford and access a healthy diet.
Before lunch there will be a panel discussion on the long-term implications of child food insecurity led by Claire Pritchard who is chair of the London Food Board.
After lunch Anne Longfield OBE, children’s commissioner for England will lead a keynote speech. Anna Taylor, chief executive of the Food Foundation will then discuss children’s right to food charter in London.
