Abstract
Oxford Brookes University's partnership with Chartwells will continue for a further five years in an extension of its catering contract worth £5 million per year.

Under the new contract, Chartwells will continue to provide catering and retail services to 18,000 students, staff, visitors and conference and event customers on three campuses across five sites, while also expanding its service provision to the University's new John Henry Brookes Building.

Chartwells and the University have worked hard to encourage students and staff to grow their own fruit and vegetables through a Kitchen Garden programme and have introduced waste reduction schemes to reduce the University's environmental impact.

As part of this contract extension Chartwells will continue to support Oxford Brookes University's sustainable initiatives.

Chartwells will also focus on further developing its offer, bringing on trend ideas including street food and small plate dining to the table, alongside customisable and portable offers such as fresh salads and deli sandwich offers.

Robin Mills, managing director of Chartwells, said: "I'm absolutely thrilled to renew this contract with Oxford Brookes University; we have a long standing relationship with the University and we are incredibly proud of the achievements that have come out of this partnership to date."
