Abstract
Darran Mc Gregor, executive chef at the Civil Aviation Authority at Gatwick Airport, has been named 'Charlton House Employee of the Year 2009'.
Darran received an engraved plaque, a bottle of champagne and £500 worth of Marks & Spencer vouchers at a surprise award ceremony, held at the CAA on Wednesday 16th December 2009. Singled out from almost 2,000 Charlton House employees nationwide, Darran won the coveted title because of his outstanding commitment to Charlton House over the past eight years. Paul Cox, support services manager at the CAA, said: "Darran has worked extremely hard to ensure that his kitchen team continues to deliver the quality service we have become used to. His drive, enthusiasm and commitment make him a perfect leader and role model, demonstrating how high standards are set and maintained. "He is a great chef with huge talent, and above all, a very well-respected and all round 'really nice bloke'. His customer service skills are excellent and his team follows his lead in this area." Michael Bale, Charlton House general manager on site, has this to say about Darran:" When I took over the contract at CAA, Darran was an absolute wealth of knowledge and couldn't have been more helpful. His food is outstanding and what is most impressive is his ability to keep his team happy and motivated. He is a fantastic guy and a pleasure to worth with." Darran said:" It came as a complete surprise and shock! It is great to get such recognition."
