Abstract
This year's winners of the Charlton House Unit of the Year award have been announced.
VISA Europe in London was named winner of the managed site category, meanwhile VocaLink in Dunstable won the chef managed site category.
Charlton House announced the winners at their annual conference at Beaumont House in Old Windsor last weekend (25 April).
Each catering team received an engraved cup, a certificate, £1,000 spending money and a bottle of champagne for their outstanding levels of food and service.
Douglas, who is the catering manager at VISA Europe where he has a team of 34 staff, said: "This means so much to us. It is a true team effort and down to the positive attitude of every single person in the team."
Commenting on the winners, Tim Jones, co-founder and chairman of Charlton House, added: "When it came to the short-list stage, we were looking at the performance and progress of each unit over the past year in terms of client relationships, the quality of food served, business development and initiatives all within the strict confines of the contract. Both scored high in all categories."
The contracts were singled out for the award from 150 other units nationwide after receiving the highest score in a Charlton House Quality & Standards audit, strong performance in all of the criteria for the company's Excellence Awards and positive feedback from clients and customers.
