Abstract
Magic Breakfast has set five goals for this year as the charity continues its mission to ensure children and young people have full stomachs fueled for learning.
The charity offers a school breakfast to 300,000 children every morning working in hundreds of schools daily, with more school being added throughout 2025.
According to their annual survey 81% of partner schools believe that child hunger has increased in their school community in the past year. The survey also found that 87% of partner schools believe Magic Breakfast has a positive impact on educational attainment.
In April 2025, 750 primary schools will begin piloting the Government’s plan for free school breakfasts. The results of this trial will inform the wider roll out of free school breakfasts for all primary aged students in 2026.
Magic Breakfast has outline five key goals for 2025:
- Reach even more children at risk of hunger
- Inspire and empower school communities
- Support the roll out of the Early Adopters Scheme
- Support the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill through parliament
- Trial new ideas to help combat child hunger
