Abstract
Mobile catering firm Express Catering has accepted a challenge to cook and serve 42,000 meals in seven days at the World Scout Group event, Eurocamp.

Taking place between July and August, Express Catering will serve the 2,000+ attendees camping out in Thames Valley, as they partake in a number of scouting events and activities.

The team will work in a temporary dining room custom built to seat 800 people.

Offering a vast choice of breakfast, lunch and dinner options, including porridge, fruit, soups, pastas and salads, guests will also get to choose from four different evening meals each day, ranging from noodles and curry to a traditional English roast, meatballs and gourmet burgers.

Eurocamp 18 organisers said: “At the heart of every successful camp is camp food. It needs to be healthy, well balanced, nutritious, delicious, safely prepared and sufficiently filling to give active wolf cubs, scouts and scouters the energy to enjoy a great outdoor experience.

"That’s why for Eurocamp18 we have selected a catering company that is used to cooking for massive outdoor events, including the 2012 London Olympics, large music festivals, major businesses, and a whole variety of fairs and shows. They understand the importance of food in a successful event, and are partnering us to deliver just what we need.”

Specialising in large event catering, Express Catering awarded Best Newcomer for its work with Network Rail in 2016. It will also provide outdoor catering services to several other large events this summer, including a number of festivals.
