It is the first time Great Britain has been awarded the opportunity to host the International Young Chef Final - an honour bestowed upon countries demonstrating culinary excellence on a global level.
Entries are now opened for chefs no older than 27 years and entrants must be nominated by their Chaîne des Rôtisseurs’ affiliated employer by December 31st 2015.
Candidates put forward will be assessed by the Competition Committee at regional level, and the most impressive entrants will then go onto compete at the National Final at Unilever House, Surrey, on March 3rd.
The top three competitors will be invited to an awards dinner at The Dorchester on the March 18th where the GB representative for the International Finals, to be held in Manchester in September, will be announced.
Philip Evins, GB Bailli Délégué for the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, said: “Chaîne GB is committed to nurturing young culinary talent and to supporting the development of skills across the Industry.
“The Young Chef Competition is an important part of this, and being awarded the honour of hosting the International Final is proof that we are succeeding in this promise which will ensure Britain remains in top position on the world food stage."
The Young Chefs Competition was first organised by the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs in Switzerland in 1977 to support and promote future young chefs by giving them the opportunity to develop and demonstrate their skills.
