Andy Jones wins award
Abstract
Andy Jones, national chairman of the Hospital Caterers Association (HCA), has been awarded a Foodservice Order of Merit Award from the Catering Equipment Suppliers Association (CESA).

CESA represents over 170 companies which supply, service and maintain all types of commercial catering equipment.

CESA’s Foodservice Order of Merit recognises individuals who have gone beyond the call of duty in service to the catering industry. The orders aim to be a celebration of the passion and commitment of foodservice individuals from around the world.  They are presented every two years to elected leaders of major foodservice industry associations who make a significant voluntary contribution to the development of the hospitality industry.

The 2014 ceremony at Hotelympia featured a diverse honours list of 18 of the great and the good from the UK and overseas.  As HCA national chair, Andy Jones was recognised for his outstanding contribution to the hospital catering sector.

Commenting on the recipients of the CESA Foodservice Order of Merit, Nick Oryino, chair, CESA said:  “They are the drivers, the movers, the shakers, the people who make it happen. Their passion and commitment enriches our industry. The Foodservice Order of Merit recognises their contribution, and I’m delighted, as chair of CESA, to be involved in making these awards.”

On receiving his CESA award, Jones added:  “I am deeply honoured to be one amongst a very eminent group of recipients of these prestigious CESA’s awards. I am particularly pleased that the work of the HCA, as the representative body for hospital caterers nationwide, has been singled out for recognition.

"I feel that this is not only about acknowledgement for one person but also for the huge commitment made by NHS and health care caterers nationwide, who day in day out, provide the highest standard of hospital food possible for their patients, staff and visitors in extremely challenging operating circumstances.  I would like to thank CESA for this great accolade.”
