Abstract
The 2014 CESA (the Catering Equipment Suppliers Association) Conference, in association with the FCSI (The Foodservice Consultants Society International) and BHA (The British Hospitality Association), will be held on the 13th and 14th of November at Heythrop Park Resort, Oxfordshire OX7 5UF.

The conference programme includes industry leaders, economists, a futurist and a hospitality service management specialist. The keynote speech will be delivered by MP, broadcaster and writer Gyles Brandeth, who played Lady Bracknell in the Hammersmith Riverside Studio’s 2011/12 version of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest.

The BBC’s Steph McGovern, who was awarded for her coverage of the credit crunch, will facilitate the event.

The CESA conference is the catering equipment industry’s annual event, attracting delegates from every sector, including manufacturers, distributors, consultants and operators.

The 2014 conference theme, ‘The Future’s Bright’, will focus on the opportunities for growth that the economic recovery is bringing.

David Smith, economics editor of The Sunday Times, and Mark Stevenson, the author, futurist and founder of Flow Associates, will deliver insights into how the catering industry suppliers and operators can maximise their prospects.

Reports and presentations will examine the latest developments of BIM (Building Information Modeling) and its impact on the catering and equipment industry, as well as the construction and architectural arenas.

Chair of CESA, Nick Oryino said: “Delegates will hear the latest thinking from speakers at the heart of the issues.

“However, the conference is not just about listening, it’s about joining the debate and getting your voice heard. With over 200 industry leaders gathered together, it’s also a great opportunity to network.”

On the Thursday the programme includes a variety of activities including golf at Heythrop Park and an informal evening dinner.

On Friday the speaker programme will be followed by the CESA AGM and the Gala Dinner, where the FCSI Sustainable Catering Equipment Award and the CESA/Caterer Outstanding Service to the Industry Award will be announced.

The Catering Equipment Suppliers Association (CESA) is the authoritative voice of the catering equipment industry, representing over 170 companies who supply, service and maintain all types of commercial catering equipment - from utensils to full kitchen schemes.
