Donkin, who is currently commercial director UK & Ireland for Fagor Professional Foodservice, took up his new role this week.
He commented: “My first objective will be to go out and visit members in order to better understand the things that Cedabond does well and the areas that members think could be improved. The industry is changing, the world is changing, and we must keep up with new technologies and routes to market.
“The main message I want to convey is ‘how can I help?’ Our members and suppliers are as important as anyone at Cedabond and play a crucial role in any future success. I want to hear what tomorrow’s managers and directors have to say because their ideas will help me to devise both short and long-term strategies that will ensure Cedabond is both modern and relevant.”
The appointment of a managing director was one of a number of recommendations made following a strategic review of Cedabond’s internal and external operations carried out by its board in conjunction with Steve Loughton from Cupola Consulting.
Cedabond also announced Nigel Quince will continue in his role as commercial director until 31st December, whereupon he will take on a new role as Cedabond’s business development manager.
