A total of 64 Ceda members took part in the survey and reported sales growth against the previous quarter and against year-to-date sales.
Some 53% said sales for the last quarter were better than the previous quarter, while 55% said year-to-date sales for this year were improved upon the year-to-date sales last year.
Exactly half said their margin this year was the same as the previous year.
The results showed restaurants were overwhelmingly the area of the private sector generating the most enquires from October to December 2017.
