Ceda Academy heads to Germany for inaugural overseas trip
Abstract
The first ever overseas trip conducted by the Ceda Academy will take place this May with 18 of the group travelling to Germany to visit the factories of Ceda partners Hupfer and MKN.

The Ceda Academy has grown ‘significantly’ in recent years and this first overseas venture demonstrates the association’s commitment to recognising and developing the next generation of the industry.

Adam Mason, director general at Ceda, said: “It’s been a medium-term ambition to supplement all of the good work that the Academy has done with an international trip to the headquarters and manufacturing facilities of some of their key supply-chain partners.

“It’s a brilliant opportunity for these outstanding young people to further broaden their knowledge base, increase their confidence and enhance their personal development and I’ve no doubt it will be the first of many International opportunities for the Academy.”

Academy members from ABDA, Gratte Brothers, NWCE, HB Catering & Refrigeration, CE Technical, Eileen Say, Catering Equipment Support, Arolite and Vision Commercial Kitchens are making the trip which will include factory tours, presentations, product demonstrations and training.

MKN’s regional vice president of UK & Ireland, Wayne Bennett commented: “The whole MKN team is very much looking forward to the visit of the Ceda Academy to Wolfenbüttel, Germany. MKN is an independent midsize company still in the hands of the founder family, with over 600 employees and partners all over the world. It means a lot to us to bring our company closer to the Ceda Academy guests from the UK and above all to exchange ideas.”
