The workplace catering specialist went up against three other caterers to scoop the three-year contract and is now providing a first-class catering service to the 268 staff that are based in the building – many of whom are aged under 30. The contract is worth £100,000 per year.
Mary Blackwell, group facilities support manager at the Yorkshire Building Society, said: “In the three weeks since Catermasters took over, there’s a completely different atmosphere in the restaurant – it’s a lot more positive and people have smiles on their faces.
“We were particularly impressed with how Catermasters listened to what we were asking for. We wanted a catering solution that is suitable for the profile of our workforce, good value and that would make our staff feel they’re being looked after through the service we provide. I think we’ve achieved exactly that and I’m extremely pleased.”
The Yorkshire Building Society site is operated by a three-strong Catermasters team comprising of a chef manager and two catering assistants. Catermasters has carried out a preliminary makeover of the restaurant and plans further changes in 2013 to increase its appeal even further.
