Abstract
Contract catering specialist, Catermasters, has raised £15,000 for The Myton Hospices charity after many of its clients and suppliers came together last week to take part in the company’s annual charity golf day.

The Myton Hospices is a group of three hospices that each provide specialist palliative care for terminally ill patients in Catermasters’ home county of Warwickshire.

This year’s fundraising effort means Catermasters has now raised in excess of £65,000 for The Myton Hospices – the fourth highest amount ever achieved by a business in Warwickshire.

As well as enjoying a battle on the golf course, 88 guests also supported various other fundraising initiatives on the day including an auction and a raffle. One of the prizes up for grabs was a fine dining meal for six people that would be cooked in the winner’s own home by Catermasters’ development chef, Ryan Holmes.

Rosie Houghton, The Myton Hospices corporate fundraising support officer, said: “We’re delighted with the incredible support that Catermasters and its clients has shown us at this year’s annual golf day.

“We cannot thank them enough for putting so much time and work into arranging such a fantastic event and raising such a phenomenal amount each year. We help more than 2,000 terminally ill patients and their families every year and wouldn’t be able to continue without support like this.”

Nigel Johnson, joint managing director of Catermasters, added: “Our charity golf day is a real highlight of our year and brings together lots of generous and passionate people that all want to help a really good cause.”
