Abstract
National workplace catering specialist Catermasters has named chef manager Sarah Thomson as its Employee of the Year for 2010.
Thomson works at Catermasters' TNS site in West London and has been awarded the company's highest accolade after "transforming the fortunes of the site in her first financial year in charge", believes Catermasters.
Catermasters joint managing director, Nigel Johnson, said: "Sarah has faced a number of challenges and many difficult moments during the short time she has been a chef manager at TNS but the way she has turned things around and excelled in her new position has been truly amazing.
"She runs the TNS site with great consistency in all areas of the business and the fact that she has taken a financial loss in 2009 and turned that in to a healthy and profitable site in difficult economic circumstances is a great achievement that should be recognised."
Thomson, who only joined Catermasters in 2008 as a sous chef, was delighted to have been awarded for her efforts. She said: "Taking overall control of TNS has been a significant challenge but I wouldn't have been able to turn the site around without the help and support of the team that work there. "I'm honoured to have been selected as Catermasters' Employee of the Year because it shows that hard work does pay off."
TNS is a global market research company and has more than 800 staff on its main site in Westgate.
