19th Mar 2012 - 00:00
Abstract
Caterlink, the state education catering specialist, has been awarded a three-year contract to cater for 54 schools across Wokingham Borough in Berkshire.
The agreement will see Caterlink deliver freshly prepared, seasonal hot and cold school meals to pupils and staff in the borough's schools which are currently opted into the contract. Wokingham councillor Rob Stanton, the executive member for education services, said Caterlink was chosen following a European tender process and the award would enable the borough to maintain the 2012/13 meal price to parents. "Caterlink were chosen based on value for money, quality, service, technical ability and financial stability. They have proposed to deliver a flexible contract ensuring that the needs of each school are supported." Neil Fuller, managing director of Caterlink, commented: "We are absolutely delighted to be selected to provide catering services across Wokingham Borough. "This is a fantastic opportunity to deliver fresh menus, using local produce, prepared on-site daily by well-trained teams. "Caterlink is committed to giving pupils the opportunity to enjoy and benefit from a nutritious lunch and this contract is testament to our ability to deliver quality food within the set meal prices." Caterlink is part of Westbury Street Holdings, the independent catering group which also includes BaxterStorey in the B&I sector, Holroyd Howe in the public school market and coffee and sandwich shop brand Benugo.
